FG declares Friday public holiday, excludes bankers

The Federal Government has declared February 22, 2019 as a public holiday for Saturday's Presidential and National Assembly elections, Vanguard newspaper is reporting.
The public holiday announcement was contained in a statement on Wednesday by the Ministry of Interior, which has retired Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Dambazau as Minister.
The Federal Government, however, exempted bankers and other essential services workers from the holiday.
The statement said: "Federal Government declares Friday 22, February 2019 as work-free day. Those providing essential duties and bankers are excluded,
"The work-free day is to enable citizens return to their poling units for the reschedule Presidential & National Assembly elections.
"Security agencies have been directed to ensure safety of lives and property before, during and after the general election."
